SWIMJAMAICA JOINS ALIA ATKINSON TO HOST A WATABOUND SWIM CLINIC

Updated: Jun 27, 2019

Jamaica’s swim sensation Alia Atkinson and SwimJamaica have joined forces with the main organizers; the Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA), Hope Worldwide Jamaica and the Kingston Church of Christ to host a Watabound Swim Clinic for seventy (70) children from three (3) children’s homes at the UWI pool on June 28, 2019 starting at 2:00 pm. The clinic is a part of the organizers “the home for the holiday initiative”.

Children from Glenhope, Jamaica National and Sunshine children’s homes will interact with Olympian Alia Atkinson, who will seek to provide an experience to cultivate a desire to learn to swim and a strong respect for water and its environs.

SwimJamaica instructors will provide an introductory learn to swim class to each child while providing important water safety tips. SwimJamaica is seeking ja$1.2 million to continue the children’s learn to swim education through-out the summer. The sponsorship goal will cover instructor fees for 30 lessons, pool access and transportation as the children complete the SwimJamaica levels 1, 2 and 3.
